Dog toys are a design disaster. We created bluume to change that. To be irreverent and glamourous. Ridiculously necessary. Opulent, yet decadent. Also, to build something beautiful that works famously as a toy, so people stop buying ugly crap for their dogs. 

Our scientific research (we’re all dog owners), tells us dog toys sit on your floor being ugly 98.3% of their lives. So we created bluume.

Introducing the first dog toy designed for both dog and human. People tell us it’s beautiful enough to keep them on the fireplace mantle. So do we.

Today's Color Pallete

We make bluume in limited runs. When a color is gone, that’s it. Like a rainbow. Then we choose a different color by whatever is inspiring us at the moment.

  • Detroit

    Detroit moves the world. Centuries of creativity and design and execution and repetition. Clearly, it’s the repetition that inspires us the most. At every turn, at every hustle, Detroit thinking goes around barriers. Or through them. Again, and again. The Detroit bluume is steel and salt and concrete and the slate grey sky everyone sees just before sunrise when Detroit goes to work.

    We just like orange.

Thoughtful Design

  • bluume is a sculpture.

    The smaller end is a peanut butter pocket. The larger end is a treat pocket. Both are optimized for easy, quick filling and playful unfilling. 

    The toy has two small holes through it designed to help make sure there aren’t problems with suction or air flow. It’s easy to wash with warm, soapy water. All sculptures hate dishwashers, so don't do that. It’s injection molded in forms we created, and the design is patent pending.

  • We make hippies happy.

    bluume is constructed with durable, high grade TPR (thermoplastic rubber). It’s non-toxic, conforms to RoHS standards (Restriction of Hazardous Materials) and is the same stuff used to make the spatula in your kitchen and the teething giraffes our kids chewed on. bluume is 100% recyclable. 

    One thing that means is if your little buddy chews like a chainsaw, bluume may not be a perfect partner. Most dog owners know if they are harboring an aggressive chewer. The planet-friendly material we use isn’t flimsy, but it won’t stand up to Grizzly Bearian efforts. We will let everyone know if we make an indestructible object. This one just isn’t it.

bluume is rubber, so it bounces. It’s designed to roll erratically, making it both fun to chase and rewarding to capture. A happy accident was how well it channels kinetic energy when one hauls off and throws these things. 

The bluume box is made from a single sheet of sturdy, recyclable cardboard. It can handle the rigors of shipping or the pleasantries of just waiting to be grabbed off a shelf.
